Kiss the Day Goodbye - II
Boston/Cambridge Winter CityScape at Sundown
Along the Charles River
Winter 2007
Back Bay area
Boston/Cambridge, MA, USA
This is the second of the "Kiss the Day Goodbye" series: (1 -- 2 -- 3). They are best viewed in the largest size of the images (I -- II -- III).
Sometimes, my night images are much darker than the usual shown because they appeal to me when I like to emphasize certain details. In this case, the details of the Winter trees against the soft glow of the setting sun, unseen here. While seemingly identical, there are slight differences in the images shown here. The first was pointing slightly from the Kenmore/Fenway (left) slightly towards more of the Memorial Road (MIT/Kendall Square area) -- both at 12mm, while the third at 24mm is more similar to the second in the series but a much closer view.
Different subtle details of the Boston/Cambridge Winter CityScape at Sundown were revealed, as a result.
The images in this series of three in the Boston/Cambridge Winter CityScape at Sundown were after the Boston Back Bay CityScape and the Boston Government Center/Financial Districtand before a representative Boston Back Bay CityScape at Night taken at a slightly different location but also along the Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
For related images, visit Winter 2007: Boston NightScape & Sundown; and browse through Discover MetroBoston to get a feel why the MetroBoston area is one of my favorite cities among the places I have lived in and visited in the US, Canada and Europe. I have just begun taking images of MetroBoston and it is Winter so it has been a challenge to take outdoor shots, plus I have loaded only a few (less than 1%) of the images I have taken so far. I prefer sharing bits and pieces about the images I have taken to share the experience with you -- rather than overwhelming you with "crappy" images.
I prefer Boston also during late Spring and Early Summer when the metro area is more vibrant, expect to see more images then.
N.B.
The image was uncropped. Except for "unsharp image" and the automated resizing and "screen image optimization" to reduce the diskspace usage, no further image manipulation was done.
