River Öxará

This part of River Öxará is just underneath Öxarárfoss waterfall in Þingvellir/Thingvellir National Park, Iceland.

It lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This river runs to the largest natural lake in Iceland.
