"black-browed albatross"
Bempton Cliffs East Yorkshire Coast.
"Ramblings"
The lost "black-browed albatross" affectionately named Albie.
Apparently he turned up around Bempton, Flamborough head early this year, being first time he has been seen in this area early spring.
A little bonus for our visit so we were hoping we would get to see him.
Hard to get a feel for that impressive 2.5 metre wingspan while he is flying over big sea and along side very high cliffs.
In hindsight I should have made an effort to re-visit the viewing area he was mostly showing.
As the only time we saw him was on the first evening of our visit, so I ended up with just a few snapshots thinking I would be back for more another day.
I always made a beeline up the opposite far end in awe of the Northern Gannets, and in my opinion with the wind direction we had, these viewing areas were best for fairly close Gannets in flight.
