Monochrome Interlude - Dýrholaey, Iceland

Technical: Nikon D3x, CPL, 0.45x GND, 4s at f11, 32mm

For a brief moment in time, looking south, the midnight sun interrupted this monochromatic dream. As trolls of the past remained in hiding, I furtively captured this ephemeral moment whilst deliberating on the exact temperature of that passing wave. I measured it as cold :)

The pink band proved a welcome addition, but I was already taken by this moody, stormy scene as is. The view is towards the island of Dýrholaey (and it's arch) which is a renowned nesting ground for our feathered friends, namely the puffin. Nice to have a famous backdrop, but really this is all about the mood, the black sand and the cold monochrome tones which to me appropriately conveys how Iceland affected me.

Please take the time to leave a comment, an impression, a thought, always appreciated.
