Misty-ery Loch - Somewhere, Scotland
Please View Large
Technical: Nikon D3, polarizer
The common theme of my posts today could be water, but actually it's that something went wrong photographically speaking. Taken during my first trip to Scotland, my tripod got lost in translation by the airline (since found). So all hand held photography, no long exposures, no filters, just plain vanilla photography with a polarizer. So be it, but I had absolutely amazing weather...so was a bit sour. On my last day driving back from Castle EIlean Donan to Edinburgh (possibly Spey Valley) came this sight. Was in a hurry to get to the airport, whatever.
A wonderful small lochan with frost bitten shores, slowly exhaling mist. A kiss of golden light which fails to reach the shores. Having never been to Scotland before, this image is probably closest to how I dreamt of the mysterious Scottish highlands.
WIth more time and a tripod, I could have probably done a better job, but hey I have come back twice because of it. No regrets. I hope it conveys the mood I experienced.
