For 2009, the base Corvette comes with the 430 horsepower LS3 6.2 liter V8. It is rated at 26 mpg on the highway with many owners reporting 30 mpg.
The Z06 model is even more impressive with the S9 7.0 L V8 which delivers 505 hp.
New for 2009, with a price of a mere $105,000 the ZR1 Corvette comes with a hand assembled, supercharged 6.2 L V8. This most powerful Corvette ever built produces 638 hp.
The ZR1 launches from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and covers the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds.
The original ZR-1 was produced from 1990 to 1995 with a maximum horsepower of 405hp. Based on the C4 Corvette, a total of 6,939 ZR-1s were produced.
Notice that the new ZR1 has the hyphen removed from it's name compared to the C4 version.
