a sideways glance

This green bee-eater (merops orientalis) was glancing sideways at a couple of loud myna birds that had "invaded" its tree. The mynas soon flew off to resume their chattering elsewhere and the bee-eater stayed put. Photographed near Thissamaharama, in Sri Lanka.
