overhead ibis

This black-headed ibis (threskiornis melanocephalus) was heading away from Parakrama Samudra Reservoir, in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka and passed directly overhead. I was used to seeing white plumage on a standing bird - so it was interesting to see the breeding-season patches of colour on the underwings.
