Always wanted to get one of those "Tree blocking out the sun with bright rays of light" shots.
This is the image that propelled my career.
It was taken on a frigid 7-degree afternoon in January 2009, as I walked through knee-deep snow along Lake Ontario. The sun was rapidly setting, so I dove into the snow to take a dozen shots before it sank below the horizon.
This photograph has been published in 2 coffee-table books; a college textbook; a Rochester, NY photography gallery [home of George Eastman and Kodak]; and an international contest of which I won my first DSLR.
All thanks to the praise and compliments of online strangers such as yourself.
P.S.--This photo was selected as the Grand Prize winning image for Studio414's February 23rd Photography Contest! It can also be seen published on OpenArticleSubmission.com in "Thinking About a Career Change – How to Decide"Thank you all for appreciating and encouraging my work, giving me the confidence to enter it in the contest to begin with.
