Toy store fun: Obvious "Battlestar Galactica" knockoff set of "Lego" knockoffs

I can totally picture how this must have gone down:

 

Toy Designer:

"We have a plan to make Battlestar Galactica themed Lego sets. Here's our demo, with a Colonial Viper chasing a pair of Cylon Raiders."

 

Lego executives:

"Have you actually seen the new Battlestar Galactica? I don't think a children's toy based on it is a good idea."

 

Toy designer:

"Well I already have this prototype, maybe the Mega Blocks people will like it."

 

Mega Blocks executives:

"Have you actually seen the new Battlestar Galactica? I don't think a children's toy based on it is a good idea, either."

 

Toy designer:

"Well fine then, I'll just market it myself."

 

Toys R Us executive:

"Sorry, looks too much like the Battlestar Galactica ships, we'll get sued if we sell these."

 

Toy designer:

"Well fine then, I'll just clip on some random winglets that would be totally non-functional in the vacuum of space."

 

Toys R Us executive:

"Okay fine whatever."
