FALLOUT SHELTER
There used to be a school with one of these placards near where I grew up.
It scared the dickens out of me for a long time.
If a nuclear attack happened, how was I supposed to get there in time, how was this little brick school going to withstand something that could level whole cities and vaporize or irradiate millions (well, it was rural, so hundreds) of people.
Even if by some miracle we managed to survive the initial blast & fallout, then would there be enough food in there to live off, or would I have to figure out how to be an Atomic Farmer in the aftermath?
As it turns out, I never had to find out. Close one though, watch that Reagan character, he's crafty.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have just signed legislation outlawing the Soviet Union forever. The bombing begins in five minutes. Heh heh."
