B747 APU start

I got this shot just as pushback completed. You can see exhaust coming from the rear of the airplane because the auxiliary power unit (APU) is loaded as it provides air to start the engines.

The Boeing 747-400 (nicknamed the whale) reigned for many years as the queen of the skies. It has the capability to carry more than 530 passengers and fly more than 8300 miles. This mighty aircraft has a maximum gross takeoff weight of just about 900,000lbs.
