Testing for Cholera

A technician in the microbiology lab of the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) in Phnom Penh rubs a swab from a stool sample onto a testing plate to test for the presence of the cholera bacteria. The CDC supports the lab so it can quickly and accurately diagnose such public health threats sent as samples from anywhere in Cambodia. All of these tests were negative for cholera.
