Past

"A decade ago I was a soldier in the first great war of this century, not by force, but by choice. Too early, the tides had been turning. Facing our enemy, war crimes beyond mankind´s understanding were committed. In a final attempt to prevent an impending loss, we deployed a biological weapon called Hydra, named after a mythological creature growing two heads for each it loses.

Many died at once, infecting more and more on both sides. Others were less lucky, they survived long enough to fight a war of the half dead, only alive by slowing down the decay of their own flesh. But one, one remained entirely unharmed.

We were holding the line till the war ended, eventually. There was no promised vaccine and all veterans were left to die, the chosen solution to contain the growing sickness. All, but one.

There was no winner, only the betrayed, the betrayers and our nation´s isolation."

The National Crisis Project miniseries, based around the past present and future of a deserted soldier, will be my entirely Purge unrelated main project for the following month. This is more or less a prequel to explain the background of the protagonist. Main goal of the miniseries is to show a cinematic aspect of old dark grey and to present the near future setting with a sense of monotony. The entire series will look best in full screen mode. Special thanks to Tayasuune for the netting-smoke technique.
