Setup

So basically a lid from a bin repurposed as a tray to hold a bunch of dirt and crap. I like how its a tray so I can easily move it for different lighting and backgrounds. This setup has been where I’ve taken most of my shots lately, whether it be all dusty in this or filled with water and plants in this. On the top left you can see the bricks I painted and that I use as backgrounds in some of my pics such as this, this, or this, etc and you can see that chicken wire that I just use as a fence in the background sometimes. Also I got a bendy barbecue lighter for being able to put the fire in a weird spot while still looking through the camera. Of course I gotta throw in a crashed star destroyer for a cool background and there you go. The camera is a Canon Rebel SL1 and I just used the kit lens because after years of using dslr's and different lenses, i tried using the standard 18-55 i always forget about and I realized it works the best for lego photography because of how close you can get to the figures and being able to change the look with the zoom by having the field of view change by being able to change the focal length. A lot of my shots are variations of this setup.
