School Picture
There was no more need to take pictures for posters, but I still felt the nagging need to sort out what it was that made Thomas so different and grabbing the camera was second nature by now. The picture taking continued because it was clear that Thomas was going to do things that were camera-worthy and he was a willing model. Most cats leave the room when they see a camera pointed in their direction, but not Thomas. On occasion he seemed to position himself for the photograph; he might even cross his paws “just so”, like the setups for School Picture Day. From an artistic standpoint, photographing Thomas seemed an exciting prospect, and it made me look back at the pictures taken of Thomas thus far. Wouldn’t it be fun to document an animal’s life from the beginning? After all, I already had a good start; there were over a thousand pictures covering the time since I brought him home to foster.
