Quilted landscape + original photo
For this first assigment I decided to make an quilt out of a landscape. I've drawn squares in my sketchbook and printed out a photo of a meadow in France. Then I tried to capture the colors in the photo in the squareboxes. I feel the sky works well but the bottom part was far more difficult. The squares where too large to capture the nuances in color.
I really enjoyed looking at the photo with 'different' eyes, to investigate which color was most prominent etc.
