I thought is was a ..."blue milk mushroom, Lactarius indigo, is a species of fungus in the Russulaceae family of mushrooms, growing on the ground in both deciduous and coniferous forests, where it colonizes on the host plant's roots." But Ellen has kindly responded this isn't a milky (see comment below) I have a few more photos along with the quotes from our local newspaper "The Concord Monitor" from 9/18/11.
