Crooked Stripes Quilt

Here it is, my Threads Together Quilting Bee quilt, finished! I’m not sure what I was after with this, something Gee’s Bend-y I guess. I loved seeing the ladies in my bee pushed a little out of their comfort zones, coming up with really cool blocks. It was insane to piece the top—after giving up on a couple people who didn’t return blocks (not going to lie, that was a let-down, still just hoping they’ll send back the fabric), I decided to fill in space with some fabric I had reserved when sending it out. There were a lot of small and skinny pieces, so it was a little like Tetris getting it all together!

Basting the top on my floor (with all the furniture pushed to the walls) was the next major accomplishment! My first thread basting was hard on the knees, but it paid off when I hand-quilted it, which is the last real big deal for me on this quilt. First large quilt I quilted by hand, just lots of close short lines. I’m looking forward to doing a bunch more hand quilting!
