Redcliffe Revealed, my favourite image from my 24 hours in Bristol experience.
I sat on the pavement here for a long time watching the view. The light was sublime, traffic on the water was frequent but didn't disturb the calm. I wondered why I had never thought to use this spot as a vantage point before. I loved the shapes of the coiled rope but what had left that behind? Then it occurred to me; in my 30 years in Bristol (almost to the day) the Thekla had always been docked right here, providing an excellent entertainment venue for the city but blocking the views of Redcliffe and Bathurst Basin. Currently undergoing repairs in dry dock, the Thekla has opened up a wonderful view for Bristolians and visitors to enjoy. Thanks for that.
