Near and far
This is supposed to be the best viewpoint to admire the sunrise in São Miguel (municipality of Nordeste) - hence the name "Ponta da Madrugada" (something like "Dawn Headland" or "Dawn Point"). Sadly, I was not aware of this and visited it in the afternoon. Luckily, the view is always beautiful, no matter the time of day.
The flowers in the foreground are hydrangeas, which are native to Japan and which colours vary with the acidity of the soil they grow on.
O Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada é supostamente o melhor local para admirar o nascer do sol em São Miguel (concelho do Nordeste). Infelizmente, eu não sabia disso e visitei-o à tarde. Felizmente, a vista é sempre linda, seja a que horas for.
