Danziger Gabeln
This week's theme was a tough one, and as I couldn't come up with something that deemed worthy (and not just old) I decided to skip it.
On the way to my mum I remembered these old forks that my late father had used daily. These are from my great-grandfather, shipwright Johann Jakob Strauß from Danzig, who moved to Wellingdorf (not part of Kiel at that time) some years before 1900. Kiel was the fastest growing city in Germany at that time, not with a goldrush, but with a ship-rush (if that word exists)
About the size: Yes, that's close to three inches. Very close.
