Canadapt says: It is overdue for me to include one of Louise's photographs in my Galleries and fitting that she is the opening artist in my third given that she has been inspiring me for some time now. I recently called her the Scottish/British "artist in residence" in one of my comments on one of her superb photos in a wonderful photostream. You can see her reverence, respect and superb artistry in every image. Just look at this composition and ask yourself how could it be done better? I think you will come to the same conclusion that I did ... it simply can't be done better! Even the sheep are aesthetically balanced. Visit her photostream and learn and be inspired.

Canadapt says: Another "artist in residence" who captures the essence of the British landscape in his work. This is the second time I have included David's work in my galleries and, quite frankly, it is tempting to include virtually everything he does. All of his photography demonstrates great care and thoughtfulness - enjoy the colour and shadows here - an image that one can get lost in and look at for hours always finding something new. Peruse his photostream and you will see that he is a perfectionist to our great benefit!

Canadapt says: ClaWed One wears his 'heart on his sleeve' in his photography ... he finds a way to capture and express his mood through his art. His themes are often dark and sombre and always provoke thoughtfulness about where and who we are and why we are here. This piece is beautifully balanced from the perspective of shape, tone, colour, light and shadow ... a superb abstraction!

Canadapt says: Another favourite photographer of mine who is overdue for an appearance in one of my galleries. Scorpocat has an eye for colour and shape that sets him apart and gives rise to wonderful abstractions of everyday encounters in the wonderful environs of Turkey. Just look at the number of dimensions and layers in this photo ... you won't be able to count them all on both hands. Visit his photostream and learn from the way he frames images and how he uses both bold and subtle colour to create wonderful images. His photography often includes splashes of humour as well and often leaves me smiling if not shaking from outright laughter.

Canadapt says: One of the sure signs of how inspiring an image is to me is when on viewing the photo I have this strong sensation of wishing that I had taken it ... this is definitely one of those! What a wonderful photo full of depth and subtle lines and light with just the right amount and shape of shadow and black to frame it all! I've seen this photo in my mind and wanted to take it myself ... Mr. Andersen beat me to it ... sign me a little jealous and a lot inspired.

Canadapt says: I'm starting to understand that my eye is attracted to images that have strong moods and this is clearly one of those ... a powerfully ominous and threatening sky combined with the idyllic farmscape in the foreground which still has a hint of sunlight on it makes for a wonderfully dynamic photographic that portends of things to come. Superb capture!

Canadapt says: This is the second of Reed's photographs to make it into my galleries. Although he is eclectic and shoots many subjects, all of them well, his wildlife photos are to be treasured. He has a knack for capturing the real characteristics and behaviours of the animal in situ while nailing the contrast, framing, composition, colour and all of the other aspects that make for a great photograph! This photo begs for prolonged viewing and with each look increases my admiration for the photographer.

Canadapt says: What a great discovery for this rainy day ... to come across Donna Cleveland's photostream. I have already spent an hour delighting in her work and will probably spend another hour before the day is out. This photograph, like so many of her photos, is exquisitely framed and exposed with a bouquet of colours that please and provoke and a composition that never tires the eye - on the contrary it holds your interest and makes you come back again and again. Go see her work for yourself - you will not regret it - even if it is not raining!

Canadapt says: The proportions in this photograph are as near perfectly balanced as any image I have ever come across ... whether you are talking about colour, shape, line, light, shadow it is somehow harmonious. Bravo ... superb!

Canadapt says: I've just spent a wonderful hour visiting Irina's photostream ... this sample of her consistently superb photography is typical of her ability to find and capture the extraordinary in the ordinary. How many of us would have walked by this scene and missed the opportunity that she has depicted so well? Fantastic!

Canadapt says: Skubmic has been a regular in my galleries for good reason ... he never fails to combine the essential elements that make for striking photography. How he finds these people in just the right place at just the right time doing just the right things is a source of wonderment!

Canadapt says: I will admit my bias upfront and note that Takako is my niece. In addition to that dubious honour, she is a superb photographer who comes by her art naturally. Her photography always has the power to surprise as in this unique portrait/cityscape. It's rare to come across someone with a fresh eye but Takako is the real thing. Visit her photostream - she is new to Flickr and doesn't yet know how good she is - let her know that it isn't only her uncle that sees her talent.

Canadapt says: I admit to being intimidated by people photography but I am determined to learn ... this wonderful portrait has taught me a lot! The artist has made a series of unusual choices in processing that work so well and make for a striking, unique and inspiring photograph ... bravo!
