'Ersatz'

Updated comment: Colour me embarrassed .... this post of a Loon was not a photograph but a creation by an artificial intelligence. I instructed the 'Bing AI' app on my phone to construct a picture of "a Loon on a lake" and that image is what I got back. I titled it and tagged it in a manner that would expose it for what it was and I placed it in the albums 'Abstract' &'Just Because' and I even included a link to a song titled "Won't Get Fooled Again." I thought it would be obvious to viewers it wasn't my photograph. The joke was on me though because as best as I can tell no one picked up on any of my 'clues' and every one thought it was one of my 'real' Loon photos. I have no real interest in generating AI images but I can see many others including some of my long-time contacts on Flickr are using AI extensively so I thought I would 'give it a try' to see what the fuss was about. My small experiment tells me that photography is undergoing a marked transformation, a sea-change of sorts and our artful pursuit is not what it once was although I have no great insight into what it will become.
