Frenze Church
This is a wonderful remote little church. (Follow the sign for Diss Business Park [not as grand as it sounds] and then take the left turn for Frenze Hall.) There are no signs or indications for the church. It has no tower, is disused, and is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust. Frenze is another Norfolk deserted village. It probably failed in the 17th Century. The church is associated with the Blennerhasset family.
Frenze was exempt from the parish tax in 1428 because it had under 10 households. By 1664 only six persons were charged. Frenze was united with Scole and Thorpe Parva (which is another DMV).
