Notably, programmed autoexposure is built in, as is a motorized winder and a top LCD. There is no modular removable prism or film backs, in the interest of compact size, although six AA cells are needed to make everything work.
The Pentax 645 lens series introduced for this camera would have a surprising second life in a 2010 medium-format digital (albeit with a crop factor around 1.27x).
