New Nikkors in 1956

These are still pre-SLR days for Nikon. However the 105/2.5 was a classic, staying in production in one form or another through a final AIS version persisting into the 21st century.

 

The symmetrical 25/4.0 is a design that is not compatible with a flipping reflex mirror, however. Their comment about reflection losses in "the usual 6 or 7 element" wide-angles could be seen as a little dig at the Zeiss Biogon 21mm advertised in this same issue.
