SEASONAL SWEETS

Christmas is in the middle of Summer in New Zealand. Being a relatively new country we don't have many Christmas traditions/foods of our own. Early ancestors from England, brought their English traditions and many of us still follow these today. We also have strong populations of Chinese, Indian, German, Dutch, South Pacific cultures and they too have brought their own traditions.

My picture follows the English tradition and features tiny, short sweet pastry, fruit mince pies (just a mouthful) which only come around at Christmas time.
