Jelly Mooncake Trial and Error

After our previous unsuccessful attempt at making the jelly mooncake, we called up Aunty Susan for some tips.

She told us that the reason it would not stick was due to the oil from the red bean paste. The commercially bought red bean paste has oil that will prevent the 2 layers of the jelly from sticking, so normally people cook the red bean paste themselves.

So we thought we give it a try again over the weekend to test out the concept.

This time we did not use red bean paste, but just normal jelly (flavoured by fruit juice), just to see if the 2 layers will stick together.

It was a success!

The layers bonded firmly and the jelly was tougher (due to less Konnyaku this time).
