Coldness of Winter
I was watching a documentary on the making of Eraserhead by David Lynch, and there was a scene when they were driving around to some of the locations. They went by a heavily industrialized part of the city, and David Lynch said, "Look how beautiful that is." I chuckled because I completely understood his sentiment. I feel the same way when I look at scenes like the one in this capture. The cold steel with its paint peeling against the monochrome sky. Only ornamented with a stark branch that is trying to grow. It is the coldness of industry, of winter, of metal, and it has its haunting beauty. So I will often stop and try to capture it.
