trailing on the horizon
Extremely long exposure from a pitch dark night down by a roaring sea. In the distance, a fishing boat passing by slowly writing a bobbing trail on the horizon. I used no artificial light source on the rocks in the foreground, solely natural light, largest aperture and open shutter for 16 minutes.
It was like light painting but I didn't have to do the painting myself, the ship on the horizon did it for me. :)
Exposure: 16 minutes @ f/2.8, ISO100, 17mm, Nikon D300, Nikkor AF-S 17-55/2.8, MC-36
