Open Rachel's photo of me in GIMP.
Duplicate Layer twice.
Select the background layer.
Desaturate (greyscale).
Select the middle layer
Attempt to select skin tone using Fuzzy Select Tool, and Select by colour tool. Fail.
Select face and chunk of hair using Free Select Tool (lasso).
Invert selection and delete everything else.
Using the Colours -> Hue\Saturation Tool, push the hue 40 degrees round the colour wheel.
Right click on middle layer in layer window, and add a layer mask.
Set layermask to greyscale copy of original. (This only works as my hair is dark, otherwise I'd have needed to mess around with Levels)
Similar for Ears, but using the Colourise tool.
Clone Brush and Smudge the points where the ears had obvious joins.
