White-lined Sphinx

A common sphinx moth that is often observed hovering while feeding at flowers in the evening. It is a large to very large moth (FW length 29–40 mm [1.14 – 1.6 inches]) with a diagonal yellow stripe and white veins on the forewing and a pink and black hindwing that flies throughout much of the Pacific Northwest during much of the year.
