A Twinkle behind the Glasses
Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm a pretty big enthusiast of the Bootstrappers (excuse me, WORLD FAMOUS Bootstrappers) Pirate band. These fabulous gents and ladies have been with me through thick and thin, through jobs ending, and new positions, and moving across the country and back, and so on.
Today (well, yesterday technically now) happened to be my last Disneyland day before my move to Washington, D.C., and I'm so glad I was able to make it up to see my favourite musicians one last time. These gents truly made me feel like the Queen of Waters, and I'd be lying the blue out of the sky if I didn't admit that I teared up once, twice, OKAY LIKE 20+ TIMES TODAY.
Stringfellow, the pirate featured in this image was the one of the first pirates that I connected with. (I generally try to take a bit of a back seat to allow the "once in a lifetime visitors" to get the full experience, and the kiddos dancing and playing with the band is some of the best memories I've had with them...) He recognized my repeated attendance, and made an effort to talk to me (because I apparently get painfully shy and don't want to get in their way/bother performers). Stringfellow has been one of the "constants" in my Disney life, and I know I can always count on him for a smile, a mischevious glint, or his customary action regarding "Molly's Hips..."
This one's for you Tim. I hope it does you justice.
