The Middleburg Heights Signature Inn opened in 1989. The hotel would be a part of the Signature Inn chain for barely five years before being sold on the heels of Signature's exit from bankruptcy in 1991. It became a Comfort Inn in late 1993 or early 1994, which it has remained to this day.
