Wagen 379 am Hauptbahnhof
Das Depot "Am Steinberg" hat die Düsseldorfer Rheinbahn nach 103 Jahren am 11. Juni 2011 geschlossen. Daher mussten auch alle Oldtimer der "Linie D" das Depot verlassen. Am 19. Juni kamen sie dann alle noch einmal zurück, um mit den Bürgern Abschied zu feiern. Zu diesem Anlass fuhren sie dann auch durch Düsseldorf.
Die "Linie D" verfügt über die wohl größte Sammlung betriebsfähiger Oldtimer-Straßenbahnen in Deutschland und möchte in dem Denkmalgeschützen Depot ein Museum für historische Schienenfahrzeuge aus Düsseldorf einrichten.
Ob die Politik dort mitspielt, ist leider noch offen.
The Tramway-Depot „Am Steinberg“ in Düsseldorf is closed by the Düsseldorfer Rheinbahn on June 11th , 2011 after 103 years. All classic streetcars must also leave. On June 19th they came back once more to farewell celebration with the Citizens. On this occasion they drove through Düsseldorf.
The “Linie D” has the largest collection operable Vintage trams in Germany and would like to to preserve this heritage building as a museum for historic streetcars.
Whether the City Council join in with this, is unfortunately yet decided.
