Lester Fandunklestein takes his job as Somewhereville Harbor Rust Inspector quite seriously. His boss says he was born with a nose for rust. Lester uses his superior sense of smell to sniff beams and bolts to judge the character of corrosion. In all his years on the job, he's only been wrong once--when he sniffed rust on a bulkhead and claimed it belonged to the necklace of a stripper from one of the dockside dive bars. It turned out to be from a vending machine in the bar's men's room that dispensed condoms. Humiliated, Lester didn't speak for three days.
