The Power of Lonliness

During 1970 I decided to hitchhike from the SF Bay Area to Albuquerque to meet a couple of friends. In Paso Robles a couple offered me a ride all the way to my destination if I would share the driving with them. They were on a non-stop trip to Chicago. I was driving when the sun came up in Arizona. It was my first view of the desert and I was awed by its massive lonely personality. I ended up living in Albuquerque for some time and was always inspired by the power of loneliness in a beautiful desert view--a feeling I still have today.

Location: a barren corner of my mind.
