Kristin in the Alley 3

Kristin was an absolute joy to have in front of the camera. Having been in beauty pageants when she was younger, she know how to strike and hold a pose, take direction, and change her expressions and posture ever so slightly in order to create something fresh and new. It was quite difficult narrowing the field to the select few I wanted to post Flickr.

I searched Cookeville over for a location that seemed relatively interesting and that I had never used before. I came across this alleyway one night and loved the different textures with the brick on one side and the stone on the other. I scheduled the shoot at 9:00am to boost our chances of getting some sunlight between the buildings. The weather proved slightly challenging because of the changing ambient light resulting from a cloud obscuring the sun for a bit. Overall, I thought we managed quite well.

strobist: 1 White Lightning x1600, boomed above camera, diffused by a Mola Demi. 1 White Lightning Ultrazap 1600, camera right, diffused by a 64" PLM with diffusion cover in place (fill light). 2 White Lightning Ultrazap 1600s, camera left and right (behind subject), pointed at the opposite wall in order to bring a little bit more detail to the background. 1 Canon 580EXm camera right (behind subject), yellow gelled, bare (used as rim light). Strobes triggered via Cybersyncs; 580EX triggered via optical slave. Strobes powered by 3 Vagabond IIs and an Innovatronix Explorer XT. A Genus ND Fader Filter was used.
