Amber: 50mm f/1.4 Bokeh

Canon 7D

50mm f/1.4

f/1.4, 1/200 sec, ISO 100

I'm still testing out the Fader ND Mark II for use in portraiture. The Fader ND allows me to use very wide apertures with off-camera flash even when the sun is in full force. However, from what I can tell, the Fader ND affects the way autofocus functions on the 7D (and 50D). Therefore, you have to dial in a microfocus adjustment every time you 1) adjust the density of the ND or 2) change the distance between the camera and subject. This makes using the Fader ND quite difficult, however, when you do nail focus, the beautiful bokeh (out of focus blur) makes it almost worth the hassle.
