Strobist: Nikon SB28 and Canon 430EX both on 1/64th power camera left and right, at a low angle to the subject which is on a sheet of glass. Crumpled velvet with an SB24 on 1/4th power with two CTB gels on it for the background. See setup shot below.
Unless you want to spend your life cloning out teeny tiny specs, your plate glass needs to be spotless, especially if you're going to be skimming light across it at an incredibly low angle.
