OK, so one of the first things that I did when I got to Kuala Lumpur was to check into my hotel and to wash of the travel funk that you get from 14 hours in transit. In the bathroom, I discovered this rather complicated looking loo. I'm familiar with the concept of bidets, and of toilets, but never have I crossed paths with the lovechild of the two. But that is what this is. Dubbed the "Personal Hygiene System" this robotic toilet has two knobs that when turned extend an arm into the middle of the bowl and then spray water upwards.
I wasn't quite sure what the icons on the knobs did, so I bent over to look at them and then I decided to give them a turn. Imagine my suprise and delight to watch the arm move into position. Now imagine my horror when a cold blast of high pressure water sprays out soaking me right in the face!
My instinct was to grab a towel, but the water kept spraying. I then turned the knob hopoing to turn it off, but I ended up turning the knob the wrong way, which basically transformed it into a geyser in my bathroom. Finally I threw the lid on the bowl down and turned the knob off. So I managed to have a shower before my shower!
Should have known better...
