To catch fish, think like a fish--
In the lee of the bridge pilings, where the current goes slack, where the bugs drift by, this is where fish wait to eat. The river is an endless buffet, and they hang back, out of the current, taking it easy, waiting for a meal to come drifting past. Drop a jig, a worm, a small lure, in there--you'll catch fish all day. Better yet--before you fish, glean the shoreline for bugs under rocks--these are the same bugs the fish look for on their daily menu.
