Deborah is passionate about making work valuable and rewarding, and thrives on helping teams and their customers discover the best ways to do this. Deborah has over twenty years' experience in the IT industry, so she knows that process can help or hurt a team. She has mentored colleagues and improved the processes of numerous software development teams during her career. She has helped both adhoc teams and those with heavy PMO processes find balance and a new ability to produce quality.

 

Deborah has been a developer, o-o analyst, business analyst, methodology lead and IT consultant. She has worked in the engineering, financial, and publishing industries, as well as in all levels of government. Deborah has a college diploma in systems analysis and undergraduate studies in computer science and the fine arts.

 

Deborah recently contributed to an enterprise-wide rollout of an Agile software development methodology, which triggered her latest paper (with Robin Dymond): Appropriate Agile Metrics

 

Deborah is an active contributor in the international Agile community, most recently the Agile2006 conference. She is a member of the XPday North America team, facilitating the Open Space track at XPday events in Canada and the US. Deborah is a Certified ScrumMaster/Practicing, an Agile Process Improvement Coach, and an Open Space Facilitator.
