Curve-billed Thrasher (Palmeri Group), Toxostoma curvirostre palmeri, 11 in / 27.9 cm. COMMON in a variety of open habitats, especially suburban yards and parks, desert scrub with varied plants and open patches.
Giant Saquaro, Carnegiea gigantea, the only one of its genus and one of the slowest growing cacti known. They can reach 60 ft / 18 m. The blooms are finished and the fruit is forming.
