Dip-Netting Tadpoles

Standing water at the edge of the beach parking lot had this interesting textured pattern on the pool's floor. Closer inspection revealed hundreds of tiny inhabitants. Polliwogs!

 

I wonder if these are the rare spade foot toads - which aren't really toads at all, but frogs.
