Amsterdam Sluishuis I
Located in the outskirts of Amsterdam (IJburg), this architectural gemstone is an amazing place to look at. The residential complex - entitled Sluishuis (Dutch for sluice house) has a very engaging design by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and Barcode Architects. Built like an angular ring, partly hovering above the water and with a courtyard accessible from the mainland and by boat from the water. In this view you can see how the sunlight cuts through the courtyard and into the water entrance. My love of rhythm and repetition is fulfilled by an eye-catching pattern of balconies. More view angles will follow.
