Ibrihim, Camel-Keeper
Photographed in the beautiful but unforgiving Sahara Desert in eastern Egypt.
Ibrihim is a farmer and camel-keeper who calls the oasis town of Siwa his home. Here, he leaves the camels for a moment (just out of frame) to pose for a photograph for me, his foot still bleeding from jumping away from a camel's kick, which ended with him bashing his foot against a rock.
Lighting info: light by one un-modified off-camera Canon 430EX flash, held by 6'7" Tom Smitheringale, Australian adventurer, to my left. Triggered by Pocket Wizards.
