sewing my wounds shut

 

I wish we could all wear our wounds on our faces.

I wish it was as acceptable to ask about someone's scars as it is to ask about how they got their hair so shiny, or where they got their shirt from.

I wish, with a single glance, someone could see what I've been through.

I want to see yours, too.

I want to know the jungle you trekked through, how you came out the other side, or if you're still in it.

I want to help sew you up.

I want help sewing myself up.
