~ Water Maple ~
This tree ~ that I call a Water Maple ~ is a native to North Texas. It transplants and grows easily ~ and rapidly. The main problem with rapid growing trees is that they tend to have weak or soft wood ~ and with heavy North Texas winds in Spring and Fall ~ that could mean broken limbs. Weak limbs or not ~ the Water Maple can put on quite a show in the Fall.
The Water Maple (Acer saccharinum) — also called silver maple, creek maple, river maple, silverleaf maple, soft maple, maple, or white maple — is a species of maple native to eastern North America in the eastern United States and adjacent parts of southeast Canada. It is one of the most common trees in the United States. Information from our friends at Wikipedia.
